• The Learning Edit offers small group tuition for children in Years 4-6 who would benefit from extra support, greater confidence or additional challenge in Maths or English.

  • Sessions are taught by Matt, a qualified primary teacher with experience across Key Stage 2, in both state and independent schools.

  • Groups are kept small, with a maximum of five children. This allows children to benefit from learning alongside others while still receiving meaningful attention.

  • We offer small-group tuition in Maths and English for children in Years 4-6.

  • Once a half-term place has been paid for, your child will be invited to a free 30-40 minute in-person baseline assessment before their first group session. This helps us understand their strengths, identify any gaps and confirm the most suitable group placement. If we are unable to offer a suitable group following the assessment, the half-term payment will be refunded in full.

  • Sessions are held in Baffins, Portsmouth.

  • Small-group tuition costs £25 per child for a one-hour session.

  • Tuition is paid half-termly in advance by bank transfer. Once a provisional place is offered, payment is due within 48 hours to secure the place.

  • Missed sessions are non-refundable and cannot usually be credited or carried over, as your child’s place is reserved for the full half-term block.

  • Our main focus is small-group tuition. However, 1:1 support may be available where appropriate and can be discussed on an individual basis.

  • We believe clear communication with parents is important. Matt will provide verbal feedback and keep you informed about your child’s progress, strengths and areas they are working on.

  • We welcome information about any additional needs or support that may help your child feel comfortable and get the most from their sessions. Please include anything relevant when completing your child’s information form so we can consider how best to support them.

  • If we need to cancel a session, we will offer an alternative arrangement, credit or refund as appropriate.

  • Places are booked one half-term at a time. If you do not wish to continue for the following half-term, simply let us know before the next payment is due.

  • Sally will review your enquiry and get in touch to discuss your child’s needs, availability and the most suitable group. If a suitable provisional place is available, you will receive the relevant details and next steps.
